The Israel-Czech School
Česká škola, kterou ve spolupráci s Českou ambasádou v Tel Avivu organizuje organizace Israel Czech Republic Friendship Association, je pravidelným setkáváním dětí a rodičů česko-izraelských rodin žijících v Izraeli. Současná česká škola navazuje na tradici z předcházejících let a má za cíl přiblížit děti českému jazyku, kultuře, historii a potažmo také vzájemným vztazích mezi Českou republikou a Izraelem.
Czech school, which is organized in cooperation between Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv and organization Czech Republic Friendship Association, is based on regular meetings of children and parents of Czech-Israeli families living in Israel.
The current Czech school continues the tradition from previous years and aims to introduce children to the Czech language, culture, history and, consequently, to the mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Israel.

Naše poslední setkání bylo opravdu výjimečné a děti se ho zúčastnily v hojném počtu. Tentokrát totiž mezi nás zavítala bývalá paní učitelka Ilona, a tak jsme si udělali krásné venkovní dopoledne s piknikem v trávě. ☀️ Tématem byli naši malí jarní kamarádi – broučci, motýlci a další hmyz, který jsme zkoumali nejen pomocí obrázků, ale i her a tvoření. Děti se naučily spoustu nových českých slovíček, procvičily si barvy, tvary i názvy zvířat a přitom se pořádně vyřádily.
Z hlíny jsme modelovali své oblíbené broučky a kytičky, které si děti odnesli domů. 🌸🦋
Paní učitelka Ilona připravila i řadu pohybových aktivit, které děti nadchly a přirozeně je vedly k procvičení slovní zásoby hravou formou. Učení venku má zkrátka svoje kouzlo! A protože jsme byli tak aktivní, nezapomněli jsme ani na posilnění – nechyběl společný oběd, na který se všichni těšili. 🍽️
Děkujeme paní učitelce Iloně za milou návštěvu, energii a nápady, které do setkání vnesla. A všem dětem i rodičům za krásnou atmosféru a účast! 💙
🐞🌼 Czech School Meeting in Tel Aviv – May 23rd 🌿🧺
Our latest gathering was truly special, with a great turnout of children. This time, we were delighted to welcome back our former teacher Ilona, so we enjoyed a beautiful outdoor morning with a picnic on the grass. ☀️ The theme was our little spring friends – bugs, butterflies, and other insects, which we explored not only through pictures but also through games and creative activities. The children learned lots of new Czech vocabulary, reviewed colors, shapes, and animal names – all while having loads of fun.
We used clay to model our favorite bugs and flowers, and each child took their creations home. 🌸🦋
Teacher Ilona also prepared a range of movement games that captivated the children and naturally helped them practice vocabulary through play. Outdoor learning really has its charm! And after all that activity, we made sure to have a shared lunch that everyone was looking forward to. 🍽️
A big thank you to teacher Ilona for her lovely visit, her energy, and all the creative ideas she brought to our meeting. And thanks to all the children and parents for creating such a warm and joyful atmosphere! 💙
Czech School – Meeting on May 16
🌸 Na posledním setkání České školy v Tel Avivu v pátek 16. května jsme si s dětmi povídaly o tom, jaké květiny kvetou na jaře v Česku i v Izraeli. 🌷🌼
Objevily jsme spoustu nových slov, vůní a barev! 🐝
V tvořivé části si děti vyrobily své oblíbené kytičky, které si nabarvily a odnesly domů. 💐 Učení tentokrát kvůli krásnému počasí proběhlo v parku.🌞
Těšíme se na další společné chvíle! 💙

🌸 At our last Czech School meeting in Tel Aviv on Friday, May 16, we talked with the children about the flowers that bloom in spring in both the Czech Republic and Israel. 🌷🌼
We discovered lots of new words, scents, and colors! 🐝
During the creative part, the children made and colored their favorite flowers to take home. 💐
Thanks to the beautiful weather, the whole session took place in the park. 🌞
We’re already looking forward to our next time together! 💙

Czech School – Meeting on April 25
🥚🌸 Pesachovo-velikonoční setkání České školy v Tel Avivu 🌸🥚
V pátek 25. dubna jsme se společně setkali na jarním odpoledni plném her, tvoření a objevování!
Formou kvízu a omalovánek jsme si s dětmi připomněli, co pro nás znamenají svátky Pesach a Velikonoce, jak se slaví v Izraeli i v Česku a rozšířili jsme si slovní zásobu o nová slova. ✍️🌍
Společně jsme si také zazpívali veselé písničky, vyzdobili krásná velikonoční vajíčka 🎨🥚 a nechyběla ani sladká odměna pro všechny šikovné děti na závěr. 🍬✨
Děkujeme všem za radostnou atmosféru a těšíme se na další společné chvíle! 💙🇨🇿
🥚🌸 Passover and Easter Gathering of the Czech School in Tel Aviv 🌸🥚
On Friday, April 25th, we came together for a joyful spring afternoon full of games, creativity, and learning!
Through a fun quiz and coloring activities, we learned what is the meaning of Passover and Easter, how these holidays are celebrated in Israel and the Czech Republic, and expanded our vocabulary. ✍️🌍
We sang cheerful songs and of course also decorated beautiful Easter eggs. 🎨🥚 At the end every clever child received a sweet reward. 🍬✨
Thank you all for the wonderful atmosphere — we look forward to many more happy moments together! 💙🇨🇿
Czech School – Meeting on April 4
První dubnové setkání České školy v pátek 4. 4. se neslo opět v duchu procvičování a rozvíjení slovní zásoby v českém jazyce. Tentokrát jsme se zaměřili na základní samohlásky A, E, I, u kterých jsme si procvičovali psaní jejich tiskací podoby. 📝
Rozšířili jsme si slovník, zlepšili výslovnost a naučili se spoustu nových slov. V našem programu nechyběly ani naučné hry – mezi nimi oblíbený Černý Petr, který jsme si upravili do jazykové verze. 🃏🎉
Díky statečné Cipi za účast a těšíme se na další společné chvíle po svátcích! ❤️
Our first April meeting at the Czech School on Friday, April 4, was once again all about practicing and expanding our Czech vocabulary. This time, we focused on the basic vowels A, E, I, practicing how to write them in printed form. 📝
We broadened our vocabulary, improved our pronunciation, and learned lots of new words. Our program also included fun educational games – including the popular Černý Petr (Black Peter), which we adapted into a language-learning version. 🃏🎉
Big thanks to the brave Cipi for joining us, and we’re looking forward to more lovely moments together after the holidays! ❤️

Christmas-Hannukah meeting of Czech school on Friday 20.12
Setkání české školy v pátek 20.12 se neslo v duchu Vánoc a Chanuky. S dětmi jsme si představili nejznámější slova pojící se k oběma svátkům a společně jsme si řekli, co pro nás Vánoce a Chanuka znamenají. Kromě povídání si každé z dětí vyrobilo svůj vlastní vánoční stromeček a nechyběla ani sladká tečka v podobě tradičního českého vánočního cukroví a sufganiot.
The meeting of the Czech school on Friday 20.12 was in the spirit of Christmas and Hanukkah. With the children we spoke about the most important things related to both holidays and together we discussed what Christmas and Hanukkah means to us. In addition to talking, each of the children made their own Christmas tree. Finally, there were sweet additions in the form of traditional Czech Christmas candy and sufganiyot.
Third meeting of the Czech school in Tel Aviv – 13.12.2024
S dětmi jsme se ku příležitosti třetího setkání České školy v Tel Avivu sešli na hřišti v parku a naším dnešním tématem byla zima. Představili jsme si nejdůležitější slova vázající se k tomuto ročnímu období a kartičky s obrázky jsme následně společně vybarvili. S dětmi jsme začali také probírat téma Vánoc a chanuky a každé z dětí vyprávělo, jak oba svátky slaví, co na nich mají nejradši a co si myslí, že k Vánocům dostanou od Ježíška. Na závěr jsme si s dětmi zahráli hru na čtení a hledání barev, které všechny zúčastněné moc bavilo.
In the third meeting of the Czech school in Tel Aviv we met with the children at the playground in the park. Our topic today was winter. We introduced the most important words related to this season and then we coloured picture cards about this season. We also started discussing the topic of Christmas and Hanukkah with the children and each child told us how they celebrate both holidays, what they like the most about them and what they think they will get from Ježíšek for Christmas. At the end we played a reading colour finding game with the children, which was enjoyed by all involved

Jako každou zimu i tento rok česká škola zorganizovala mikulášskou besídku pro děti, která se konala v úterý 10. prosince na České ambasádě v Tel Avivu. Paní učitelka Viktorie připravila bramborový salát, řízky a také balíčky pro děti. Na besídce samozřejmě nechyběl ani Mikuláš, čert a anděl, kteří hodným dětem za písničku nebo básničku předali balíček se sladkostmi a ovocem. Účast dětí byla hojná a všichni si akci moc užili.
Like every winter, also this year the Czech school organized a St. Nicholas celebration for children, which took place on Tuesday 10th December at the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv. Teacher Viktorie prepared potato salad, schnitzels and packages for the children. At the celebration was also present St. Nicholas, the devil and an angel, who gave every good child a package with sweets and fruit for a song or a poem. The children’s participation was abundant and everyone enjoyed the event very much.

V pátek 29.11 proběhlo druhé setkání české školy. To se neslo v duchu podzimu. S dětmi jsme si procvičili, jaké oblečení se nosí na podzim a v zimě, aby jim nebyla chladno, a také jaké počasí je venku na podzim a v zimě. Zahráli jsme si také poznávací hru na předměty typické pro tato dvě roční období a děti se střídaly ve čtení. Opakování jsme zakončili pracovními listy založenými na počítání a vybarvování.
On Friday 29.11 took place the second meeting of the Czech school in Tel Aviv. Our main topic was the spirit of autumn and winter. The children practiced what clothes to wear in autumn and winter to keep them warm, and also what the weather is like outside in autumn and winter. We also played some games on objects typical of these two seasons and the children took turns in reading. We finished the revision with worksheets based on counting and colouring.

Na začátku listopadu 2024 odstartovala nová etapa české školy pro česko-izraelské děti pod vedením nové paní učitelky Viktorie. Paní učitelka dokončila v únoru 2024 studium magisterského oboru politické filozofie na Karlově Univerzitě, kde se ve své magisterské práci zaměřila na mapování české identity v českém kibucu Sarid. V Izraeli se nyní bude věnovat výzkumu.
Viktorie se s dětmi schází jednou za čtrnáct dnů v pátek na dvě hodiny v Tel Avivu. Nová paní učitelka si s dětmi vytváří blízké pouto a řídí se podle hesla jednoho z nejvýznamnějších Čechů Jana Amose Komenského: „škola hrou”. Čtení a učení jednodušší slovní zásoby jako barev, tvarů, oblečení, ale také českých i izraelských svátků je prokládáno zábavnými hrami. Hlavním cílem Viktorie je přiblížit dětem český jazyk a kulturu příjemnou, přirozenou a poutavou formou, aby se udrželo jejich spojení s dědictvím.
At the beginning of November 2024, a new phase of the Czech school for Czech-Israeli children started under the leadership of a new teacher, Viktorie. The teacher graduated in February 2024 with a Master’s degree in Political Philosophy from Charles University and in her master thesis she focused on mapping of Czech identity in kibbutz Sarid. Viktorie will now be doing research in Israel.
Viktorie meets with the children once in two weeks on Fridays for two hours in Tel Aviv. The new teacher creates a special bond with the children and follows the motto of one of the most important Czechs, Jan Amos Komenský: “school by play”. Reading and learning simple vocabulary such as colours, shapes, clothes, as well as the Czech and Israeli holidays are accompanied with fun games. Viktorie’s aims to introduce the Czech language and culture to children in a enjoyable, natural and captivating way, so that their connection to their background will persist.
2023
Mikulas, St. Nicholas' Day
On 8.12.2023, children and parents from the Czech school in TA celebrated the joint traditional pre-Christmas holiday of Mikuláš at the Czech Embassy in TA. Before the Mikulas arrived , we did several activities- such as guessing puzzles, making a chain and singing Christmas carols. A special activity was a star of wishes, where children wrote nice wishes to send someone else. (to a friend, mother, the world).
The star of the evening was Mikulas, angel and devil. The children received gifts from Mikulas for all the fairy tales. We all felt the joy of the event and of meeting and remembering the Czech tradition.
